Troopmaster Setup
Download and Install Troopmaster 2010 (TM2010).
And generate reports.
Turn off any firewall (you don’t have to, but it’s preferred)
Download and install software:
http://www.troopmaster.com/download/troopmaster.html
Click on Setup_TM2010.exe.
You can run from the web site by selecting Run or SAVE to your computer. Make sure you know where you are saving it.
Please follow carefully –
There are two parts to install and run Troopmaster 2010
1. Install the software without the database
2. Download the database from the FTP site
Install the software without the database
To install the software, open the saved file. Use the defaults to install
Unit: 261
Contact Mr. Zysman for the License Key and Expiration information.
Press Activate box
New user or Convert Data from Previous Version screen
Make sure the new user box is checked
Press Next box
Program Manager Group screen
Press OK
Desktop Icon screen
Press OK
Troopmaster Software Auto Mailer
Click next, use the default settings
Install Adobe Acrobat Reader screen
You should already have this on your computer so answer No
Your computer may ask you to restart to complete the installation.
Press OK to restart
Open Troopmaster 2010
The software will open up, but does not contain the database.
You must tell the software where the database is located by following the following directions
Download the database from the FTP site Click on File>Troopmaster DotNet
Check "Activate TroopMaster DotNet" (this is the box in the upper left corner of the Troopmaster DotNet screen)
In the FTP Settings box – (Please use capital letters for: User ID and Password)
Contact Mr. Zysman for the Server, Port, User ID, and Password.
Web Data Path: do not enter anything, there should be “/”
“Use Passive Mode” should be checked
Contact Info: Enter your name
Click OK
The program will automatically download the most current database to your hard drive.
Contact Mr. Zysman for the Data Access/Data Encryption Password
If you open the program and are not on line, the software will use the last database that was downloaded to your hard drive. You should update at least once per month.
Preferences - If you want to show MBs that a scout does not have
Click on File>Preferences, check “Omit complete MBs from selection lists”
To generate commonly used reports:
Calendar
Click on Reports > Activities > Calendar
Be sure that all the Types are selected. Hold down the “Shift” key and select all the types
Enter starting and ending dates. If you want to select today, you may enter the letter t
Format button: Calendar – this will give you calendar format instead of listing
Check boxes: Include activity details
Include description
Press OK
Activities (How many camping trips, hikes, fund raising, etc. have I participated in during a given time period)
Click on Reports > Activities > Individual Participation
Select the scout, starting and ending dates, type or types of activities
For multiple activities, hold down the Ctrl key as you click on the activities
Press OK
Awards and Advancement
Click on Reports > Awards and Advancement > Individual Progress
Select the scout
Press OK
Roster
Click on Reports > Scout/Unit General
Select appropriate report and desired options
Press OK
And generate reports.
